                            University Baptist Church Bloomington, Indiana

Meet us Tuesday afternoons at the Jackson Creek Kroger Cafe'!

We also have some special programs this semester:

                            * A Visit with pediatrician, Dr. Heather Franklin
                            * "Pennies Per Load" ~ Making Our Own Laundry Detergent
                            * A Field trip to the Outlet Mall in Edinburgh
~We will publish dates for each program soon ~

Below you can read about what we usually do.  However, to start the new year off we are doing something different.  Instead of a 2 hour program at our church, a few of us will be in the cafe' of Kroger East (on College Mall Road next to Hobby Lobby) on Tuesdays from 1-3 pm.  Your'e invited to stop in and meet us, get some information about what we do and visit as long as you like.  We'll have coloring books for little ones to enjoy.  There is a drinks bar nearby if you want to buy coffee or a soda.  Look for the two or three women at a table with a blue tablecloth.  We will watch for you too.

                            Every Tuesday Afternoon
                            1-3 p.m.

Since the fall of 2000, every Tuesday afternoon during the school year, we have welcomed women and kids from all over the world for friendship and fun.

Each week we have coffee, tea and a snack ~ along with conversation and a small program.  Sometimes we cook together, do a craft, have a guest speaker or go on a local field trip.  We are always looking for new ideas so please don't hesitate to let us know what you would like to do.

To make friends, practice English and have fun are the main goals of GWG, but we also serve as helpers when you have a problem such as reading a complicated English document or finding the right resources in our community.  Just as you would be glad to help us when we visit your country - we are glad to help you here.

*Note:  We only meet when MCCSC is in session.  If schools are closed for severe weather, our program is also cancelled.  Check this website for any schedule changes.

                            Is This Program Religious?

We are a church but our Global Women program is not religious - anyone is welcome to attend, regardless of faith background.  Our only purpose is welcome you to the community and offer friendship and fun.  If you have questions about Christianity, we are glad to meet with you sometime to talk.  However, no one will ask uncomfortable questions  or expect you to participate in religious activities at the Tuesday program.  We promise!
