Some Local Ministries We Are Doing These Days
How do we choose? Using Jesus' parable concerning the least of these in Matthew 25,
when a need is identified and a UBC'er feels called or gifted to serve it - we do it.
It's not complicated but it works for us!

The Homeless . . . . . a few UBC'ers volunteer at the local winter shelter hosting and serving guests there.
The Hungry & Thirsty . . . Through Monroe County United Ministries, we donate approximately 2,000 pounds of food per year. The MCUM shopping is always available and we bring our food the 2nd Sunday of each month.
In Prison . . . . one UBC'er ministers at the county jail every Sunday afternoon. She writes about her experiences in her Seeds of Kindness column. Check it out.
The Stranger . . . . . Global Women's Gathering meets weekly during the school year extending hospitality to international women and children. The GWG Mission statement is simple: "Make Friends * Practice English * Have Fun." Through GWG we now have dear friends all over the world, including Korea, Japan, China, Uzbekistan, Russia, Ukraine, and Ecuador.
